Yesterday, Bear and I took the JEEP into the swamp and he spotted this gator enjoying the return of the rains and newly abundant water.
He saw all that from the safety of the JEEP window.
Along with abundant water, gators also enjoy dog.

Ooo... he's a lovely big one. Bear would be just about the right size for a snack.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand your caution with Bear, especially with regard to reptiles. Dogs are like kids...they have no idea that they are mortal!
ReplyDeleteI remember taking my dog for a walk on the boardwalk that winds through Jean Lafitte National Park (outside of New Orleans) where gators grow incredibly fat on nutria rats, among other things. We came upon a sunning alligator that was SO enormous I know he could have gobbled my dog in a few quick chomps. I was thankful for the leash!
